CIEE Interconnect's engineering resources

The Engineering resources of CIEE Interconnect includes 50 engineers, a lab and a prototype workshop.
Engineering activities include:
• Technical qualification of new raw material sources (participate in new supplier audit, test samples, verify specification and documents) with the goals of reducing costs and avoid single-source situations.
• Up-to-date technology surveys.
• Local sourcing to optimize finished product costs.
• Understanding and implementing the international standards for each market segment. including an assessment of the similarities and differences between standards.
• Designing or optimizing the design of products, including the use of FMEA.
• Tooling design for molding, production, and testing, and tooling design coordination at suppliers, for plastic injected parts, terminals, and contacts.
• Partnering with the Quality department to qualify the tooling and establish follow-up procedures.
• Defining the BOM (Bill of Material) and BOD (Bill of Documents), and creating the drawings. Drawings can be supplied to the customer, with revisions managed by CIEE Interconnect in agreement with the customer.
• Prototyping: defining testing specifications (lifetime, dynamic test, terminal test, high voltage, and high current test). Designing and building BITEs (Build In Test Equipment) and test reports. Participating in the FAI (First Article Inspection) for the customer.
• Defining standard and specific production processes.
• Zero Tolerance Defects, LEAN training, and high efficiency with kaizen and kanban.

The CIEE Interconnect Engineering team is organized to be close to customers, suppliers, and production, in order to anticipate and satisfy customer needs.

Internal indicators measure the length of time to quote, the efficiency of cost calculations, and sample delivery in order to shorten time to market.
